LBMD = Little Black Mesh Dress. Whether you’re going for a strappy and dainty or a casual and sleeved little black dress, mesh will always be happy to work with you and create a look to make you shook. My glittery number shimmered red in the light and graced the top of a littler LBD; check them red sparkles!
Mesh is a key material in fashion, showing off dainty bralets or sleekly covering arms and even legs – it’s universal and illuminates any look, depending on its area of coverage, colour, hem style, etc. It’s a perennial necessity for everyone’s wardrobe… especially in those night-out collections.
My two-piece is from CQ @ Fenwicks and was paired with a plain black clutch and black suede Kurt Geiger boots. I really wanted the outfits key focus to be the subtle red sparkles dotted within the mesh, so accessorised only with classic silver bracelets (Pandora & Tiffany).
My favourite accessory of all is make-up. Drawing on the essence of the mesh, I created a glittery cranberry smoky eye. Teamed with Salted Caramel highlight and Posie-K Liquid Lipstick, Kylie Jenner did me a few favours on the look too. Oh! and just to be extra as ever, I only drank cranberry juice with my liquor on the night I wore this out. Honestly, call me the queen of co-ordination.
I also loved the lightly torn hem look of the mesh as it sharpened my overall look without making the dress look too ragged or incomplete. Dresses can defo look better when distanced from conventions.
Mesh… yay or nay? Let me know your thoughts!
